Alligator to Venison: My year of eating exotic meats

The Project

Beginning today, July 1, 2012, I plan on spending the next 52 weeks investigating and eating exotic meats. Buffalo and goat are just the starting points for this journey in which I’ve challenged myself to eat alternative meat at least one day a week for 52 weeks. Alligator, antelope, kangaroo, ostrich, rabbit, elk, and many more will also be on the menu. Part of my journey is understanding where the meat comes from, the health benefits, places to buy it, restaurants that serve it and the environmental and economic impact of each meal.
